Now in this post I’m going to tell you about how to use Greasemonkey scripts in Google Chrome by installing Greasemetal.

What is Greasemetal

Greasemetal is a runtime hosts userscript that is specially developed to use with Google Chrome browsers. It’s working is similar to the working of Greasemonkey that is developed to use with Mozilla Firefox browsers. The userscript runtime is a very small javascript file that helps Chrome to modify the working of website you’re viewing. This tiny add-on is created and developed by Kazuho Oku from Japan.

How to install and use Greasemonkey scripts in Google Chrome

Just follow the steps given below to install and use Greasemonkey scripts in Google Chrome browser

  1. Download and Install the Greasemetal from the link given below
  2. After installing, close all the opened windows of Google Chrome web browser (if any)
  3. Launch the Greasemetal from your computers Start menu
  4. Greasemetal will automatically open the Google Chrome web browser
  5. Now add Greasemonkey scripts in the userjs folder located in My Documents (or in Documents if you’re using Windows 7 or Windows Vista)

  1. Follow the steps below to add Greasemonkey scripts in userjs folder:
    1. Go to userscripts.org
    2. Find and open the script you want to install
    3. You'll see the green 'Install' button at the top-right corner
    4. Right click on that 'Install' button and then click 'save link as…'
    5. Now, save the file to the 'userjs' folder (located at My Documents)
