The Russian developer named as Tom Codon over at HTCPedia has successfully managed to run Windows Phone OS 7.0 Series ROM on the most popular Windows Mobile devices known as HTC HD2. This is a big surprise for all Windows Phone 7 and HTC HD2 users.
To prove, he has posted some pictures and couple of videos of HTC HD2 phone running an early build of WP7 Series operating system.
He has also mentioned that other than graphics driver, almost all the hardware based features of the phone is working well, including Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS. The graphics driver is causing the phone to lag.
Microsoft has confirmed at MIX10 that they will not release Windows Phone OS 7 update for HTC HD2 because of hardware incompatibility. They has said that all the mobile devices compatible with Windows Phone 7 should have dedicated buttons for search, start, and back.

He has said that he is planning to release beta version soon so that all the users of HTC HD2 who want to try the Windows Phone 7 can test it on their device. Let’s see what will be the reaction of Microsoft after seeing that HTC HD 2 is running Windows Mobile 7 Series.
