Jailbreak iPhone OS 4 with Redsnow 0.9.5 – How to
Follow the step by step guide posted below to jailbreak iPhone 4.0 beta using Redsnow 0.9.5:
Note: This release will not unlock your device. So it is recommended that you don’t update your device to iPhone OS 4 if you rely on an unlock, because updating will upgrade your baseband and then you’ll not be able to unlock your device.
- Download iPhone OS 4 beta for iPhone 3G
- Update to this latest firmware file: iPhone1,2_4.0_8A230m_Restore.ipsw
- Start redsn0w 0.9.5 and point it to the original iPhone OS 4 Beta ipsw for iPhone 3G to proceed
- Now select Install Cydia and click Next
- Now make sure your device is both off and plugged in to the computer before you click Next
- Connect your device in recovery mode by pressing the Power and Home buttons continuously
- Your iPhone will reboot once it is jailbroken
After the boot of your device, you’ll notice that Cydia has a blank white icon, and you’ll also notice that Cydia has no sources. To fix this, go to Sources panel and add this http://apt.saurik.com/cydia-3.7 repo, then restart your device, now you should see the Cydia icon is back and standard sources is ready.
