Xperia X10 to get Multitouch and Android 2.1 this September

sony ericsson logoA public announcement from a Sony Ericsson representative and an unofficial report from a UK-based cellphone website says that the Sony Ericsson’s latest smartphone Xperia X10 will be getting an Android 2.1 update and multi-touch support in September this year.

The Android 2.1 update will bring lots of new features and support for live wallpapers, up to nine configurable homescreens, speech to text, increased performance, and much more. While the multi-touch support will enable you to use the device with much ease and accuracy.

These both features is expected to hit the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 in the second half of this year. You can watch the unboxing video of this phone here.

The Xperia X10 is powered by 1GHz Snapdragon processor and is based on Android OS 1.6. It features a 4-inch full capacitive touchscreen display, scratch-resistant screen, 8 megapixels of camera with LED flash, 1GB of RAM, microSD card supports up to 16GB, accelerometer, WiFi, and much more.
