The Spirit jailbreak for iPad OS 3.2, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch running firmware version 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 has been released, you can read more about this release here. It is basically untethered jailbreak that is easy to use and have a simple user interface.

Keep in mind that this Spirit untethered tool is only for jailbreaking not for unlocking. This tool can be used for jailbreaking iPhone (EDGE, 3G, 3GS) running firmware version 3.1.2 or 3.1.3, iPod Touch (2G, 3G) running firmware version 3.1.2 or 3.1.3, iPad WiFi and iPad 3G running firmware version 3.2.

How to jailbreak iPhone using Spirit untethered tool:

1. Download the latest version of iTunes and install it on your computer (link given below).
2. Download Spirit tool for Windows or Mac (link given below).
3. Connect your iPhone with your computer.
4. Run “Spirit” tool and then click on “Jailbreak”.
   Note: If you’re using Windows 7 or Windows Vista then you have to change the “Compatibility mode” to “Windows 98″ and also check “Run this program as an administrator”. You can do this by right clicking on “Spirit.exe”, and then click on “Properties”.
5. When the jailbreak is completed the tool will show you the completion message.
6. Then your iPhone will reboot automatically.
7. Now you have an untethered jailbroken iPhone.
