The iPhone dev team has just released a fourth beta version of Redsnow (redsn0w) 0.9.5 tool to jailbreak the latest iPhone OS 4.0 beta firmware. The iPhone OS 4.0 beta 4 was released by Apple and available for download earlier this month only for developers.
The current beta version of the Redsnow tool brings some bug fixes, improvements, and is only for developers and programmers of jailbroken apps that will help them update and test their apps on latest iPhone OS.

According to the iPhone Dev Team website:
“YOU SHOULD STAY CLEAR OF THIS BETA SOFTWARE IF YOU RELY ON A CARRIER UNLOCK. That’s because the beta redsn0w works only if your device has already been upgraded to the stock 4.0beta1/beta4 IPSW from Apple, which contains a baseband update. If you installed that IPSW, you’ve already lost the carrier unlock until the next planned release of ultrasn0w and blacksn0w.”
Redsnow 0.9.5 beta 4 release only supports Apple iPhone 3G and requires Mac OS X. To install this beta version, you need to be a registered Apple developer or your iPhone UDID must be registered with any iPhone dev.
