All of you know that earlier Apple has released the new version of iOS 4 firmware that is iOS 4.0.1 for iPhone. This latest firmware release is only compatible with iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4. This firmware has not upgraded the baseband which means that your iPhone can be unlocked on iOS 4.0.1 firmware using the Ultrasn0w unlocking tool.
Till now there’s no tool available to jailbreak iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 on iOS 4.0.1, so currently the only device which can be jailbreaked and unlocked is iPhone 3G. Unlock iPhone 3G Baseband on iOS 4.0.1 – How to
Just follow the step by step guide posted below to unlock your iPhone’s any baseband on iOS 4.0.1:
Note: To follow the guide posted below, you must need to have fully jailbroken iPhone. If your iPhone is not jailbroken then follow the guide posted here to jailbreak it on iOS 4.0.1.
- Launch “Cydia” on your iPhone
- Go to “Manage” and then to “Sources”
- Press “Edit” and then “Add”
- Now it will ask you to enter a “Cydia/APT URL” source
- In that box type “repo666.ultrasn0w.com“, then press “Add Source”
- Now your Cydia source will automatically be updated
- After the update is completed, in Cydia, search for “ultrasn0w 0.93″ and then install that app. This app will automatically unlock your iPhone
- Now restart your iPhone
- When your iPhone boot up, it should be fully unlocked and can be used with any carrier
