Apple has officially released iOS 4.0.2 firmware for all iPhone’s and iPod Touch to fix and patch the PDF exploit which was used by the latest jailbreak tool known as JailbreakMe, and also to fix various other issues which has been experienced by many iPhone users.
The iOS 4.0.2 firmware is now publicly available for download for free from Apple. It is compatible with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 3G. But keep in mind that updating your iDevice to this latest iOS firmware will patch your jailbreak and unlock.

Update iPhone / iPod Touch to iOS 4.0.2 – How to
NOTE: It is recommended to all jailbreakers and unlockers to stay away from this update until new tools are released for jailbreaking and unlocking the latest iOS 4.0.2 firmware.
To update your iPhone / iPod Touch to iOS 4.0.2 then follow the step by step guide posted below:
- Download latest version of iTunes from here
- Connect your iPhone/iPod Touch to your computer via USB
- Start iTunes
- When iTunes opens, select iPhone/iPod Touch under “Devices” in the “Source List” on the left
- In the iPhone/iPod Touch “Summary” pane, click “Check for Updates”
- Now click “Download and Install” to get the latest iOS 4 firmware
Note: Do not disconnect your iPhone/iPod Touch until the update finishes
