Fix PDF Exploit in iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad without Updating to iOS 4.0.2/3.2.2

apple iphone 4 picture 300x300 All of you know that the iOS 4.0.2 firmware for iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch, and iOS 3.2.2 firmware for iPad has been released by Apple. This firmware update fixes the PDF exploit used by the latest web based jailbreak tool known as JailbreakMe.

Saurik of the iPhone Dev Team and the creator of Cydia has developed a tool that will fix all the exploit on all iOS based devices, including iPhone 2G and iPod Touch 1G.

To secure all iOS based devices, Apple has recommended this new firmware update to everyone. But after updating your iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad to iOS 4.0.2 / iOS 3.2.2 the exploit will be fixed and then you’ll not be able to jailbreak and unlock it until new jailbreaking and unlocking tools are released.

So instead of updating to latest iOS firmware, you can use this new tool developed by Saurik which is named as “PDF Patch”. It completely fixes the exploit on all iOS based devices even on first-gen iPhone and iPod Touch, and making your iDevice safe and secure on jailbroken iOS 4.0.1 and iOS 3.2.1.

For those who don’t know, before the release of this fix, iPhone Dev Team has developed the app named as “PDF Loading Warner” which was a temporary fix for the PDF exploit and only warns you whenever any PDF file tries to inject malicious code through this hole. Now no need to use that tool as Saurik has developed new tool that completely fixes that exploit.

This tool is now available in Cydia for free and named as “PDF Patch”. You can install it on any iOS based device which is jailbroken on iOS 2.x, up to iOS 4.0.1.
