A new email from Apple CEO Steve Jobs has confirmed that the company will soon release a new iOS 4 software update. This update is expected to fix some performance issues with iPhone 3G runing iOS 4.
This confirmation email came in reponse to feedback sent by a customer who expressed frustration over the performance of his iPhone 3G, calling it “dog slow” and also pointing with system responsiveness when zooming, scrolling, and typing on his device.

The following email was sent by a customer:
I’ve waited patiently through 4.0.1 and 4.0.2, looking for a fix that will make my phone work again. I’ve read the forums that advise me to jailbreak my phone or use some other method so I can downgrade back to a version of iPhone 3, however I’m not prepared to use a method that is not supported by Apple.
And Steve Jobs’ replied by following email:
Software update coming soon.
Sent from my iPhone
While Steve Jobs didn’t mentioned any release date or version number about the planned software update, it looks like he was most likely referring to iOS 4.1, which is expected to be released in next month at Apple’s Media event.
