Apple earlier today announced in a press release that it has sold over four million units of iPhone 4S on first weekend, that is, just three days after its launch on October 14, in seven countries.
iPhone 4S is the most amazing iPhone yet, boasting new features under the hood, like dual-core A5 chip that gives you blazing fast performance and stunning graphics; an all new 8 megapixel camera with advanced optics; full 1080p HD resolution video recording; Siri, an intelligent assistant that helps you get things done just by asking; iCloud; and iOS 5.

As previously announced by Apple, over one million units of iPhone 4S was pre-ordered in just first twenty-four hours, surpassing the previous single day pre-order record of 600,000 units held by iPhone 4. While the most surprising thing is that the external design of both smartphones, iPhone 4S and iPhone 4, is completely similar.
“iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend—the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “iPhone 4S is a hit with customers around the world, and together with iOS 5 and iCloud, is the best iPhone ever.”
Externally, the iPhone 4S have same design as iPhone 4 but, internally few major changes has been made. The iPhone 4S is powered by Apple’s dual-core A5 chip. Includes an all new 8 megapixel camera with five-element f/2.4 lens which is capable of capturing remarkably sharp and clear stills as well as recording full 1080p HD videos with auto image stabilization. Other software based features includes Siri intelligent voice assistant, iCloud, and iOS 5.
iOS 5 and iCloud was publicly released by Apple on October 12. Apple iOS 5 is the most extended iOS software update till date and includes over 200 new features, whereas Apple iCloud, a breakthrough set of free cloud services which works seamlessly with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC to wirelessly store your content in iCloud and push it to all your devices. Apple today also announced that in just first five days of its release, iOS 5 has been downloaded more than 25 million times, whereas iCloud has been downloaded by more than 20 million customers.
Apple has already sold more than four million units of iPhone 4S on first weekend in just 7 countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, UK, and the US. In addition, Apple also announced that from the start of October 28, iPhone 4S will be available in 22 more countries. And by the end of 2011, it will be available in more than 70 countries.
