Apple has announced the new completely redesigned iPod nano in their Special Media Event. This next-gen iPod nano has Apple's Multi-Touch interface and includes lots of new features like Genius Mixes, the ability to create and edit playlists, a built-in FM radio with live pause and will give you up to 24 hours of music playback just on a single battery charge.

The new iPod nano with Multi-Touch lets you navigate your music collection by simply tapping or swiping a finger on the display. It's nearly half the size and weight of the previous generation, it also features a polished aluminum and glass enclosure with a built-in clip which makes it instantly wearable. Multi-Touch Interface and Customizable Home Screen

The new iPod nano with Apple's Multi-Touch interface allows you to access your songs, artists, albums and playlists with a tap or swipe of your finger on the display. Holding down a finger on screen will return you to the Home screen. You can easily rotate the screen by using two fingers if it is clipped onto your clothing upside down. You can also customize Home screen of your iPod nano by simply dragging icons from other screens onto the Home screen.

Shake to Shuffle and Built-in FM Radio

iPod nano also features Shake to Shuffle, giving you the ability to shake your iPod nano to shuffle to a new song in their music library. With its built-in FM radio, iPod nano lets you listen to your favorite radio stations, and also gives you the ability to live pause and resume your favorite FM radio shows without missing a beat.

Built-in Pedometer

The new iPod nano has an amazing new design which is nearly half the size and weight of its predecessor. This new ultra-portable iPod nano is also a natural workout companion. It features a built-in pedometer that makes it easy to track your steps and also supports Nike + iPod, giving you the ability to track your runs and workouts.

The new iPod nano will be available next week. The suggested price of three different iPod nano models are listed below.

Apple has announced the new thinnest and the lightest iPod touch in their Special Media Event. This next-gen iPod touch is powered by the latest Apple A4 chip and includes lots of new features like Retina display, FaceTime video calling, HD video recording, Gyroscope, iOS 4.1 and Game Center.

Apple's Retina Display

The new Apple's Retina display on iPod touch will give you more sharper, smoother and more realistic images and video. The Retina display has 960 x 640 pixels which is four times as many pixels than before. The resulting 326 pixels per inch is so dense that the human eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels when iPod touch is held at a normal distance.

Front-Facing Camera and FaceTime Video Calling

The new front-facing camera and mic in the iPod touch will allow you to make FaceTime video calls over Wi-Fi. With FaceTime app, you can call other iPod touch or iPhone 4 users to see what they are up to, share important moments like the first day of school and you can even show other what they are seeing by easily switching to the rear-facing camera.

Apple Special Media Event – Live Video Streaming

Few days ago, Apple has sent invitation of their Special Media Event to selected media members who will be covering this event. Now today, Apple has just announced that they will broadcast their September 1st "Special Media Event" online.

In this event Apple will publicly announce and show their all new lineup of iPod which includes iPod touch and other iPod models. It is also expected that they will announce the new Apple TV with show rental services, iOS 4 for iPad, and iOS 4.1 for iPhones and iPod touches.

Apple will broadcast this media event online by using their industry-leading HTTP Live Streaming which is based on open standards. To watch this live broadcast, you need to have either a Mac running Safari on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, an iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 3.0 or higher, or an iPad.

According to the press release by Apple:

"Apple will broadcast its September 1 event online using Apple’s industry-leading HTTP Live Streaming, which is based on open standards. Viewing requires either a Mac running Safari on Mac OS X version 10.6 Snow Leopard, an iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 3.0 or higher, or an iPad. Netflix Incorporation has released an updated version of their Netflix app for iPad. This new version brings support for iPhone and iPod touch in addition to iPad.

All the features that was available on iPad version is now available for iPhone and iPod touch. This version didn't bring any new feature or enhancement other than the increased compatibility with two more Apple devices that is iPhone and iPod touch.

Apple Special Media Event on September 1st – Confirmed

Today, Apple has sent invites for the "Special Media Event" to some selected media members who will be going to join them and cover this event live. This event is set to be held on Wednesday, September 1st at 10 AM Pacific Time, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco.

It is expected that Apple will announce and show their all new line-up of iPods including iPod touch and other iPod models, the new Apple TV, iOS 4 for iPad, and iOS 4.1 for iPhones and iPod touches.

The iPhone Dev Team has created a new app which is named as "vWallpaper". This app will allow you to use animated HD wallpapers on your iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 4.x or iOS 3.x.

To install and use this app on your iPhone or iPod touch, first you must need to jailbreak it. Earlier this year, an option to set animated HD wallpapers on phone's homescreen was first introduced on Google Nexus One phone with Android 2.1.

iOS 4 Software Update to Fix iPhone 3G Performance Issues

A new email from Apple CEO Steve Jobs has confirmed that the company will soon release a new iOS 4 software update. This update is expected to fix some performance issues with iPhone 3G runing iOS 4.

This confirmation email came in reponse to feedback sent by a customer who expressed frustration over the performance of his iPhone 3G, calling it "dog slow" and also pointing with system responsiveness when zooming, scrolling, and typing on his device.

I've waited patiently through 4.0.1 and 4.0.2, looking for a fix that will make my phone work again. I've read the forums that advise me to jailbreak my phone or use some other method so I can downgrade back to a version of iPhone 3, however I'm not prepared to use a method that is not supported by Apple.
